About Vida Verde: Vida Verde is a nonprofit that promotes educational equity by providing free, overnight, environmental learning experiences for students who don’t otherwise get the opportunity. Vida Verde was founded in 2001 by two Colorado College grads, Shawn Sears '98 and Laura Dickerson Sears '99. A number of other CC grads have worked as instructors and served on our Board over the years.

Location: Vida Verde’s office and coastal farm location: “Hidden Creek,” 3540 La Honda Road, San Gregorio, CA 94074. About an hour from most Bay Area locations.

What Folks Will Do: Spend a few hours pitching in on some important work projects to improve the Vida Verde program while catching up and connecting with fellow CC alumni. Different tasks to choose from, light to heavy duty! Examples are garden work, fence repair, building, and wooden nametag making, and other projects to support the construction of our new Education Barn and the farm.

If you've come to a previous volunteer day, you know to expect a fun day of community, yummy food, teamwork, positivity, learning and laughter! If this is your first volunteer day, we are so excited to introduce you to the farm!

We plan to have a lunch around 12:30pm (vegetarian options will be available).

What to Bring: Friends, prospective students, tools** or anything off the V.V. Wish List or the Summer Leadership Project Wish List that you’d like to donate. Wear clothes you can get dirty, layers, and closed-toe shoes. We suggest bringing sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, work gloves (if you have your own, we also have plenty), snacks, and lunch if you have strict dietary restrictions **If you have extra tools to use for the day, feel free to bring them along. Items that will likely be useful include: drills, shovels (especially flat-headed), wheelbarrows.**

Vida Verde's Pet Policy: Please no pets! We do have animals on the farm here you can spend some time with!
