Observing V.V.
(For Donors, Friends, Volunteers, Program Officers, and other interested folks)

After seeing the V.V. video on our home page, there’s no better way to understand the Vida Verde program than to see it in action.  We’d love to host you for a visit anytime we are running a program.  If you cannot come during program, we can still give you a tour of the site!

To find out when our 3-day, 2-night programs are taking place you can view our online calendar here. If you are interested please contact our office to schedule a visit.

Vida Verde utilizes two sites for its program and has its main office at one of them.  Be sure, before you plan a visit to Vida Verde, to contact our staff and let them know about your visit and make sure you are going to the appropriate site. View directions here.

Our educational programs are based out of the Optimist Youth Camp, where the students sleep, eat meals, have a campfire, and participate in some group activities.  We are present at the site only during our program days (Tues-Thurs) during the months of Sept-Nov and Feb-June. When camp is in session, we tend to be away during the day and back at camp in the mornings and evenings.

When the Vida Verde program is not present at camp, we are probably either at Sam McDonald County park on an awesome redwood nature hike, at the coast at one of the many state beaches and tide-pooling areas, or on our educational farm.  Please contact our office to find a way to visit a program group “on the road.”

The Vida Verde office is located at Hidden Creek, just down the road from the OVY Camp.  The Vida Verde office is staffed during regular business hours (and many non-business hours), Monday to Friday all year long.
